It was always a dream of mine to plan a Hycroft Manor wedding in Vancouver. When I met Meghan and Zach, not only did I fall head over heels for them but their wedding vision too…it’s a good one!
How they met: Meghan and Zach’s love story began 8 years ago while on vacation in Bangkok with a Vancouver based travel adventure company- Beach Travellers. Funny enough they grew up only four blocks away from each other but never met.
How he asked: A yearly tradition for the couple is taking off to Tofino for a few days in November to relax and celebrate Meghan’s birthday. In Tofino, while walking their dog Rome and exploring, Zach got down on one knee and asked Meghan to marry him. She said yes!
How they said I Do: Meghan and Zach fell into the traditional wedding style when they began planning- the ceremony, cocktail reception followed by dinner buffet reception with headtable and round tables scattered throughout the room. At one point in the planning process, Meghan and Zach looked at each other and asked themselves if this wedding was truly them and what they wanted. They decided to scratch their overall vision and begin again from scratch, this time it would be the ultimate reflection of them and their love story together. Another reason why I love this couple so much! The style was a mix of romance and vintage with many personal elements and a few jewish traditions. On the day, despite the Vancouver rain, the couple arrived at Hycroft Manor to finish getting ready and prepare for their first look on the terrace (such a great moment!). After the couple shared a few moments alone together they were joined by their wedding party for photo time before an intimate lunch on the terrace with immediate family. We styled the long table with greenery garlands, delicate florals and beautiful calligraphy heart cut place cards and two vintage chairs for the bride and groom. After lunch, the couple continued photos while the SHE team transformed the terrace to prepare for the sunset ceremony. Meghan and Zach were married infront of one hundred friends and family as the sun was setting behind the Vancouver mountains with a custom ceremony that was a beautiful reflection of them as a couple. Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed passed canapes, signature cocktails and live music played on a white baby grand piano. At 10pm (due to noise restrictions) the party wasn’t ready to end so guests were welcomed onto trolleys with live jazz musicians taking them to Mahony & Sons Coal Harbour for the afterparty for late night snack, live music and the Hora! This wedding will be one I will never forget. Thank you Meghan and Zach for choosing me as your planner and trusting me with your big day.
What they said about working with SHE: “I first started looking for a day of coordinator because I wanted myself, family and friends to enjoy our wedding day. I didn’t want to have to worry about all the ins and outs of the day or have anyone have to work on the day. But like most, I was also looking to cut costs where ever possible, so I went back and forth on this.. can I do it myself? Should I do it myself? Do i need to spend this money, or should i save and put my friends and family to work? I decided to go with my first feeling on this.. I want everyone to enjoy this day, no work, just fun.. and Im SO happy i did!
When I first met with Stephanie she was very warm, informative and overall the passion she had for weddings was bursting from her. I honestly could not have gone through this journey without her! I hired her for day of coordinator, but she was much more than that! She helped me all the way through the planning process; always there to offer an idea, vendor contact, etc. She was in constant contact and really gets to know you as a couple, which really showed on the day. My biggest delight in working with Stephanie and the Sweetheart team truly came the days leading up to the wedding and on the wedding day itself. We had many working parts: tight timelines, pick ups, drop offs, mulitple venues, scene changes etc and everything worked out perfectly! The day/night was perfect, and honestly it was all due to this amazing team! I wouldn’t have changed anything, and if I have one recommendation for your wedding, it is to at least hire them to be your day of coordinator and enjoy your dream day!” M & Z
Enjoy just a few of my favourites 🙂
