What do you do when your venue cancels on you just weeks before your wedding? Lucky enough, Kristine and Zia had hired Beth as their full service wedding planner. Together they created this stunning Plan B (this Teahouse wedding) with only three weeks notice.
First let’s back it up to high school where these two met. They travelled the world, grew into adulthood together, moved for their careers and kept a strong relationship through long distance. After years together, Zia proposed infront of a waterfall in Lions Bay…and almost fell in but that’s another story for another day 😉
The wedding plans were underway and the couple had booked the Sea to Sky Gondola. Due to the unforseeable accident that occured in August, the venue was shut down indefinetly. Sharing more about that in the new year.
Although the couple loved their first venue choice, they strongly considered The Teahouse Resturant. Due to their guest list and venue capacity they decided to move foward with the gondola. We’re calling it a blessing in disguise because their date was still available and the restaurant could make adjustments to accomodate the larger guest count. With three weeks to go and many thanks to the vendor team involved, we planned a new wedding. On the day,, it was pouring and the wind was sideways! We had secured a tent (just in case) but the sun peaked out moments before the couple’s first look. BEST DAY EVER!
Take a peek at some of the photos of this incredible day!
The couple brought in their cultures with an Ismaili ceremony and a western ceremony officiated by Zia’s Father. Immediately after the ceremony, the couple legalized their marriage with Stephanie from Vancouver Officiant).
“Beth was incredible from start to finish! Besides wedding planning, she’s also done some incredible work in calligraphy and with Celsia flowers (where she still works & teaches), so that was a huge plus. Beth was easy to communicate with at all times, and was always overflowing with positivity and creative solutions to tricky problems – like the time when we had to plan an ENTIRE wedding from scratch 3 weeks before the wedding date due to our original venue closing indefinitely!!
Despite this chaos, Beth really worked to ensure my now-husband and I were calm and enjoying the process, and we really appreciated that thoughtfulness. Also, wedding planning (read: spending) can get out of hand really quick – and Beth is very practical in terms of what’s actually necessary to plan a fun & beautiful wedding that does not compromise the ‘wow’ factor in any way to achieve your vision for the day. All in all, she’s your girl if you want your day to be beyond perfect. Thank you Beth!” – Kristine + Zia
