Are you considering postponing your wedding?
While we’re not experts in regards to the COVID-19 situation nor can we predict what will happen, we pride ourselves in keeping calm and troubleshooting through challenges like this.
The current situation (as of April 1st, 2020): March – May are being postponed | June – our couples are in discussions with their venue and vendors regarding postponement options | July onwards – we’re optimistic and pushing forward with a Plan B in place.
Here’s what you need to know to postpone your wedding:
1. What are your Priorities? –
sit down with your fiance and discuss this in full. Don’t act on emotion but on realistic facts and what is best for you both. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. Speak with your Planner –
we are here for you and will help navigate you through this the best we can.⠀⠀⠀
3. Email your Venue –
please be aware that the majority of Saturdays are booked for the fall and 2021 is quickly booking up. Be flexible and quick to decide which date you want to move forward with. Not every venue is able to hold dates with the high demand they are experiencing. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4. Email your Vendors –
you hired your talented vendor team for a reason! Request their availability in a certain time frame before you choose a new date.
Our industry is coming together greatly to support you and most are generously transferring deposits to a new date for no additional fees. *Each vendor is different so please speak with them individually. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
5. Confirm Contracts & Cancellation Policies –
you will likely be requested to sign a new contract for your new date. Vendors are adding details to their contracts moving forward to protect you and themselves with this current situation in mind. Before moving forward, make sure you and your vendors are on the same page.
6. Email your Guests –
inform your guests of next steps, your new date, RSVP deadlines and extended hotel room block info, if applicable. Your wedding website is a great tool here! Be aware that your guest count may drop due to fear of travel or financial restraints. ⠀⠀⠀
